Great Aerospace Reference Book
I just received the “2008 Aerospace Source Book”, published by Aviation Week & Space Technology. This yearly soft-cover publication has a wealth of aerospace reference material covering everything from military and commercial aircraft, to launch vehicles, gas turbine engines, helicopters, and general aviation aircraft. Just some of the data provided includes aircraft inventory and performance specifications from countries throughout the world, and profiles of major aerospace manufacturers and airlines. I always keep a copy on my desk for quick reference when I need to look up a fact about a particular aircraft. If you have a subscription to Aviation Week, you get the Source Book for free. The yearly subscription to Aviation Week is worth it just for this annual source book. If you don’t have a subscription, the price on the front cover is $49.95, though I don’t think I’ve ever seen one for sale on a bookstand. You can, however order it from the Aviation Week web site.
